Short DNC observation…

A great place to attempt to mask post-presidential run posturing with “support.”

Great work so far, Hillary.

I feel guilty…

The Hillary Clinton video I’m watching right now during the Democratic National Convention is making me kind of miss her campaign. It shows her power. Her landmark run. Her humor. All her empowerment. Minus Chelsea’s monotone voice over on it, I’m feeling all mighty about being a woman. Is that wrong? I feel dirty.

I really wanted to talk about pant suits…

               I found this image here.

I have been backsliding on political banter for some time now. I have good reason. Most of which is that I’m tired of politics. Secondly, I’m dying. OK. That’s a bit dramatic, but I have not been 100 percent for a few months now. And I just found out that my CT scan results from last week need to be analysed by a specialist. It could be nothing. But it could be a really big something. I have been spiking fever all weekend, can’t eat and delirious which may explain this post.

Anyway, I realized I hadn’t talked about pant suits and whether or not they have a place in the White House. Let’s face it. Barack may just win over McCain if the Democratic party can get its head of out its ass. And by the “secret talks” with Obama, Hillary will have a bunch of placement in the campaign or even beyond. If not as VP (yea, right), she surely will be in another role also not suited (pun intended) for her just to keep the party together.

But I just can’t help wondering: Would America want to see pant suits or power (skirted) suits on a “politically powerful” woman in the White House. This isn’t really an important question; I just wondered what other people thought. To me pant suits try too hard. They say: “Look at me! I can be just as strong as a man!” And even though I’m guilty of wearing the latter, I like seeing a real powerhouse of a suit, equipped with a skirt and killer heels. To me that says, “Get the hell out of the way, boys.” Especially paired with the right jewelry giving way to a feminine power as well as taste and class.

Is red too communist?

                                                        Lady Di did it…

  Oooo…1960s vintage.

Of all the things that this presidential election brouhaha represents,  this is the least important. But is it? What do other countries see when they watch Hillary strut in pant suits? I bet they say, that’s one wuss in a suit. We can take ’em.

A nice variation of clothing options for Hillary and Barack.

My time is now — well really it’s tomorrow …

I’ve decided that after work tomorrow, I will drive 45 minutes or about an hour, keeping traffic in mind, to my hometown to vote (instead of getting it over with early of course.) And then after a nice dinner with the rents, I will drive right back to the polling station and do it again for the caucus. What a funky process.

The real buzz here has been the Clinton and Obama rallies. Big duh if you are living in Ohio and reading this. You just never hear enough about McCain or Huckabee. Even on my job’s Web site, as you can see below, there are a number of photos and/or video being posted from citizen journalists on a regular from the democratic front.

on-the-scene.jpg

But the McCain and Huckabee slots remain vacant of submissions. Why? Is it that citizen journalists are looking for the “interesting” story or are we just netting a more democratic crowd on our Web site? Is this really, as they kept yapping about on Meet the Press on Sunday, a “personality contest?” If so Texas will probably, as I’ve said before, go straight for a democratic vote if the rest of the state behaves anything like Dallas has come November. And if not I will be surprised, even though we have been known as a red state for over several decades.

Working Texas like a hot date

It’s Hillary and Obama madness here. No sign of mass hysteria for Huckabee though. Meanwhile McCain is getting a boost because of rumors of working up a real hot date. I mean the commercials alone by all campaigns are like love letters to us. And I’m convinced that Texas may very well vote democratic afterall and possibly for Obama even if he has a photo floating around with him dressed in African garb. Since when was it a bad thing to wear African clothes in Africa? I’m not really going on the defense for Obama (I’m not completely sure if his camp didn’t circulate that photo to bash the Clinton crew) but what a lame attempt. When in Rome right?

I know I’ve stated before who I’m voting for, but here I go again…about to board the unsure train all over again. I’ve heard you guys speak up and I’ve thought about everything you have said. March 4 is fast approaching. My hand will be unsteady. I may even need a shot before going in. I’ve never been so nervous in my life for this country.
