I looked at the blog you posted about, and I was struck by the number of comments to just about every post on this guy’s blog. I guess that alone tells us something – his POV seems to resonate with a lot of people. So maybe the people reading his blog are people who do need something (not necessarily a “movement” as you called it) – some support for stepping out of the mainstream black community or just someplace to vent. We can talk all we want about how accepting people are of interracial relationships, but that acceptance is often in the abstract, and disappears when it becomes individual and personal (i.e., it’s happening in your own family – amazing how that can bring out people’s latent prejudices). And the interracial relationships most people are accustomed to seeing are black men/non-white women or white men/asian women. The white male/black female combination is still comparatively rare. Black men can get downright mean when they see a black women with a non-black man, even some black men who date/marry non-black women! So I’ll assume that those people who comment on his blog and/or lurk on his blog do so because they get something out of it. While not everyone might need this kind of support, it looks like some people do. If a little extra support is what it takes to “free your mind”, then more power to his blog.

I would like to piggy back on Goose’s comment (thanks for visting by the way) and what started this fury. I understand that the more “different” a kid is, the more trouble they will have in fitting in. I have to give you a “reality” check, Realistic: I was constantly ridiculed by my peers. I always had friends, wasn’t exactly supremely unpopular, and my school days were fairly normal. BUT I was a black girl who didn’t act stereotypically.

In other words I was accused of not being black enough. Not sounding black enough. Dressing the way I did. Liking the music I liked. Having mostly white friends…I was raised by educated parents…that was my fault I guess! I hate that uninformed people assume that if you don’t fit in a box of what your skin color dictats, you are a freak. And why should that be an issue? So what I’m telling you is, I’m not biracial and yet I experienced these things you are speaking of. All in all, through all of this anger, THAT is what you need to understand. This isn’t about race. It is just what it is: Ignorance.

And by the way. As far as Hawaii and the “fat natives” remark goes.
This is just another example of the idiocy, generalizations, bigotry, ignorance and hypocrisy you display.
Physically each race will carry its own traits. Hawaiians in particular have been large and plump in recent generations due to their lack of knowledge in nutrition.
Today they are some of the healthiest people on the planet.
Hawaii does have the second or third highest standard of living in our country. And we boast one of the healthiest populations.
Also, as I said before you are ignorant to the demographics of our state. Your perception is one of the typical ignorant white bread/mayo/and bologna tourist.
We are not just a blend of Polynisians , Tahitians and Brits as you say. The vision you carry is one of our history about 500 years ago. Since then we have had migrations from all over the world.
Portugese, Filippino, Chinese, Japanese, Irish and just about anything you could think of.
You and the ignorant folk you speek of and are so afraid of my dear friend could stand to learn a thing or two from this state and its people about tolereance , acceptance, and harmony.
Society in Hawaii has evolved to the point where we all realize that we have to get along if we want to live in the most beautiful state in the country together.
AND SO WE DO !
We do not breed our children with the intention of dodging racial adversity.
Instead, we embrace and cherish each and every aspect of every culture and its people.
What child hasnt gotten her pig tails teased, or his ears ? os something about his person ?
Children can be very cruel without intendidng to be. But that is how we learn, that is how evolve.
Its called lessons in life. Its how we learn right from wrong.
Without this we would never have societies evolving to the next stages of acceptance, we would still be stuck with medieval mentalities.
If our country was attacked would you wait for the next generation to fight off our attackers?
The problem may be to big handle once people like you get around to handling it.
You see a problem in our society but do not want yourself or you children to be the ones to have to deal with it.
You are a greedy self ceterd ignorant peice of shit who will shun your responsabilities to future generations just you can have what you think is feasable for you now.
